Who is Susanna Spies?
Susanna Spies is a conductor of voice, a composer of humor, and a believer in you. As a seasoned educator, Founder & President of Comedy Playground, LLC with showcases youth culminations out of the world famous Hollywood Improv, Spies has been recognized nationally and internationally for her advocacy, initiatives, and profound effect of humor. Consecutive award winner for 2015-2017 recipient BEST of LA Innovative Education Comedy Award, Spies has lead her vision to carry out the mission for youth, adults, Fortune 500 companies, and is profiled by Variety Magazine as one of the nation’s top ten innovators in the Educational Impact Report. Spies has a passion for change, and knows how to create bonds through the universal language understood by all: humor.

Susanna wrote, and performed over 30 original characters within her own stage performance of “Waisted” in LA and NY of 2023, and "The Dryer" which debuted at The Working Stage in Los Angeles. You may also recognize her from Nuvo Tv’s Stand Up & Deliver, E-One Entertainment’s Uncontrolled Comedy, Netflix, and several appearances on stage and off!
Spies graduated from The University of Colorado at Boulder in 1991 with a BA in English. She additionally attended: The Jean Shelton School in San Francisco, Bill Esper Conservatory of New York, and The Groundlings in Los Angeles.
